Why Is Cutting Down Trees Bad?
Learning Intention: I am learning to write a persuasive text using information to persuade readers my point of view is right.
I believe that people should not chop down trees because we will not have oxygen to breathe. The animals and birds will have no home. They will become extinct. There will be no food for the poor people who live in the forest.
I believe that we should not be allowed to cut down trees.

I believe that cutting down trees is so bad because we will have no oxygen to breathe. People destroy the animals and birds' home. They will become extinct. Some of the birds will migrate to another country. The cave men will not have food and shelter. Also cutting down trees causes erosion. The soil will get washed away. We will get sunburn because we will have no shade.

I believe that people should not chop down trees because the animals and birds will have no home. If we cut down the trees the animals will become extinct. There will be no oxygen for us to breathe. Also there will be no food for people who live in the rain forests.

Our Autumn Tree
The Autumn Tree looks beautiful and colourful. Twirling, Twirling, Twirling leaves are falling from the autumn tree. The red and yellow, golden orange and brown leaves are gliding softly to the ground. Soon the branches will be bare.

Care of Our Waterways
Room 2 made this poster to show others the consequences of not taking care of our School environment.
Learning Intentions: We are learning to.....
- identify the causes of pollution in our waterways.
- explain why it is important to keep our waterways clean?
- name ways we could do at St Patrick's School to keep our school environment and waterways clean and healthy.
Room 2 Children write a story about their learning.
Room 2 picked up rubbish from the school field and near the fence. We found plastic bags, juice cartons, paper, lunch wrapping, foil, foil packets and bottles.
God gave us the Earth to enjoy but we spoiled it.
If we keep littering, our school will not be a safe place to learn and our waterways will not be a safe and healthy place for the sea creatures and people too.
Please don't litter. Save our waterways.

The Creation Story
On the first day God made the light. He called it day and he called the dark night. On the second day God made the sky. On the third day God made flowers, mountains, trees, islands, rivers and beaches. on the fourth day God made the fiery sun, sparkling moon and the dancing stars. on the fifth day God made the birds to glide in the sky and God made fish. On the sixth day God made man and animals. And on the seventh day God rested.

Caring For Our Earth
Learning Intention: We are learning to understand that God wants us to care for His Creations.
Caring for Our Earth...Our Common Home
Room 2 picked up the rubbish we found around our school. We put it in the bin so that it doesn't get into the drains. The rain will wash it out into the sea and rivers. Fish, eels and all the living things will die. This is very sad.

Caring For Our Earth....Our Common Home
In Room 2 we are learning to Care For Our World..Our Common Home.
We have learned that we are called to 'Protect the Earth ... Our Common Home.'
We have learned that 'The Earth is God's gift to us, full of Beauty and Wonder.'
We have learned that 'The Earth belongs to Everyone.'
We play our part to protect our Common Home by keeping our school environment clean so our rubbish does not get into the drains. The rain will wash it out into the sea and rivers.
